We are excited to join our friends at INSTITUT to present a night of punk past and present.
What to expect: Punk stories from Reykjavík. Toronto music history. Hamilton hardcore in the dark. Ear-splitting garage rock. A dancefloor soundtracked by Blondie, Justice, Blur, The Rapture, and Underworld.
Our punk rock journey begins with Buffalo filmmakers Brandon Moran and Joshua Cozzo, who will present excerpts from their forthcoming documentary and lead a conversation on memory, music, and preserving punk against the odds.
Followed by a screening of seminal Toronto punk video documentary, Not Dead Yet (1984).
Then, Hamilton’s cute take the stage for a hardcore set that is as crushing as it is meditative, before Faiyaz and the Wasted Chances bring blistering punk energy underground. All while LunAzul X Lab creates live paintings inspired by live music and found materials from INSTITUT archives.
DJ Babs closes the night with an all-vinyl journey through decades of underground dance floors.
Independent film, DIY music, visual art, and the people who keep these scenes alive all under one roof for one night only.
