Les Mouches

Les Mouches are an avant-folk/indie-rock band comprised of Matt Smith, Owen Pallett, and Rob Gordon. First appearing around the Torontopian Ground Zero year of 2003, Les Mouches thrilled Toronto audiences in the early/mid aughts, releasing an EP, Blood Orgy!!! and an LP, You’re Worth More to Me Than 1,000 Christians, on the co-op label, Blocks Recording Club. Owen Pallett then began making music as a solo artist, initially under the name Final Fantasy, winning the first-ever Polaris Music Prize in 2006 and becoming one of the world’s most in-demand young composers and arrangers, working with everyone from Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Beirut, Stars, and the Mountain Goats, to Taylor Swift, Duran Duran, and Frank Ocean. Rob Gordon went on to drum with From Fiction and Cellphone, while Matt Smith started the solo project Nifty.
