Pizza Bush have been lighting Toronto punk bars and venues on fire since 2023 with their unique brand of antifolk, punk, and audaciously crude silliness. From pithy folk songs about Toronto Jazz bros, to sarcastic theatrical numbers about the woes of being a landlord, to du-wop songs about disability and dizzying punk songs about navigating Ontario’s mental healthcare system, their music blends genres like folk, punk, and bluegrass with angelic three-part harmonies, moaning, and mimicking bodily functions. Each show is a bizarre theatrical experience with a different theme, from ‘Clown Wedding,’ to ‘Illuminati’ to ‘1960s Tupperware Party,’ and the performances are always customized to each unique theme. Beginning with a ‘Creation Story’ of how the band formed, the show incorporates costume changes, props, and audience participation to ensure that each Pizza Bush show is unlike any other.
