Sunken Cages is the solo-project of Indian-born & Philadelphia based electronic drummer/producer Ravish Momin. Inspired by Mumbai’s street-drumming ensembles and underground global dance music, he creates cinematically charged tracks using live-looped percussion arrangements and pre-composed melodies.
He has toured internationally for over two decades, and worked with artists from Experimental to Pop, including Shakira.
He has recently collaborated with South African Gqom group Phelimuncasi (Nyege Nyege), saxophonist Maria Valencia (Meridian Brothers), producers Makossiri (Hakuna Kulala), Saskia (QTV), Kush Arora (Discrepant, US), Baba Sy (Jokkoo Collective, Spain) and Rani Jambak (Indonesia, Yes No Wave.) He has also done remixes for Depeche Mode, Batida (Portugal) and Babani Sound System (Mauritius)
