Camp Wavelength: Art, Games, Food & More!

Attention Campers! Camp Wavelength is just two weeks away. Two weeks today! And now it’s time to make it official: Camp Wavelength is more than just music. In addition to the awesome line-up of music we’ve announced on our main stage, we’ve also got an exciting line-up of immersive fun and games, interactive installations and performance, and hunger/thirst-quenching food and drink to share!

Here’s some highlights:

After working up a sweat dancing to Holy Fuck on Friday night, overnight campers are invited to start their Saturday with a morning run hosted by The Wooden Sky. The “Blisters in the Sun” hit the pavement at 10 a.m. for a jog along the car-free streets of Toronto Island. First-time runners are welcome!

What would camp be without Capture The Flag? On Saturday at noon, collaborative trio of weirdos Posi Vibez present Orbz, their spin on the classic camp game.

On Sunday, the Ward’s Island baseball diamond becomes the Field of Dreams for an afternoon of pick-up softball with your favourite bands, before the final day of music kicks off. Participants include electro-pop duo and Wavelength Incubator artists, Most People, who were just added to the line-up for a Late Night Set on Saturday.

Creative muscles can also be stretched throughout the weekend. Toronto-based DIY story-telling collective Static Zine host Fort Zine, where attendees can contribute to a special edition Camp Wavelength zine. Copies of the camp-created zine will be available as a memento at the end of the festival.

Artist and costume designer Ian Langohr presents Costume Puzzles, an interactive activity that will have participants disguised as mythical creatures as they mix and match pieces of his unique costumes.

The fun continues on the beach and in the water with In Synch (synchronized swimming Wavelength style!) on Saturday afternoon and Radio Flotilla on Sunday featuring Gambletron and Johnny Forever with an installation featuring floating radios and a drag dance show.

Additional installations and performance art happen throughout the festival, with food and drink available throughout to keep you sated and hydrated.

Here’s the full list of additional happenings:
