Cadence Weapon is Edmonton-born, Toronto-based rapper, producer, writer, poet and activist Rollie Pemberton. He has released five albums, all of which have been nominated for the Polaris Music Prize, including three shortlist nominees. His album Parallel World won the 2021 Polaris Music Prize. He served as Poet Laureate of Edmonton from 2009 to 2011, making him the literary ambassador of his hometown. Pemberton’s memoir Bedroom Rapper will be released by McClelland & Stewart on May 31, 2022.
